Sheelagh McCann

An honors graduate of Trinity College Dublin and the National Counselling Institute of Ireland.  She holds a BA in Psychology and a Dip. In Counselling and Psychotherapy.  Her work is regulated by the Psychological Society of Ireland and she is fully accredited by the Association of Professional Counselors and Psychotherapists APCP.

On graduating in 2004 she established a private practice and has thoroughly enjoyed working as a person-centered and solution-focused therapist over the years. She is also a qualified Family Systems Therapist and has worked extensively with parents, children and individuals.  Additionally, she is a qualified practitioner in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.  She is currently pursuing a Masters.

Over the years she has worked with a wide variety of clients with various issues.  In particular, issues that surround caring for others with a disorder or disability such as stress, anxiety, hopelessness, depression, coping ability.

In recent years she has found herself drawn to and working more with parents and extended family presented with issues relating to living with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
